Safeguarding and Protecting Young People

Safeguarding and Protecting Young People

"For the attention of all senior players, parents, carers, coaches, junior volunteers and young members. Please take a little time to read through the England Hockey "Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in Hockey" policy & all relevant documents, which are available on the website HERE

Brooklands MUHC / Brooklands-Poynton HC has fully adopted these policies and implemented its procedures.

Everyone that is involved in hockey has a duty of care to others within the sport and a legal and moral duty to ensure their safety and welfare.

It is essential that young people are provided with the right environment and surrounded by the right people with the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to support their growth.

As a club it is essential that we provide a safe, effective, child friendly environment.

Safeguarding is about good practice when working with young people. It's about providing a culture that is young person focused, offers appropriate activities and has a two-way communication with young people and their parents or carers.

As part of our commitment to develop young people, everyone has to be aware of the need to report concerns and deal with them correctly.

As a club, we fully support England Hockey's' process.

For information, if anyone has any questions, concerns, or would like to view hard copies of the policies, please don't hesitate to contact me as the Hockey Welfare Officer - John Dixon ajdixon.62@virgin.net.
