A Quiz Night to remember!

The legendary Brooklands quiz annd curry evening was enjoyed by a record number of participants young and old, well over a hundred people packed into the club house to put their intellectual prowess to the test.

Over 20 teams of four battled out in cuthroat style to win the awesome prizes, a gold medal bottle of wine each (this is Brooklands not Rio!!)

Never before has the term "team of four" been so successfully ignored by all and sundry, a special shout out to the ladies 1st XI, who entered en mass after their 5-0 thrashing of Timperley, their team size requiring not only many tables but the allocation of a room just for them!!

The "no cheating" rule was similarly ignored with Google reporting high traffic loads throughout the evening. The youth of today play fast and loose with honesty when claiming "I was just speaking to my two friends Larry and Sergey"

Many a question led to heated debate, surely Dianne Abbott cannot really be the shadow foreign secretary, when such lumanaries as David Hall, Iain Cherry and Dave Flanagan were available, okay too silly with that last name maybe just the first two ;-)

The obligatory raffle was transformed into a technicolour event with 4 different colours of tickets being sold, sadly buying some of each colour didn't change my luck or let me at least win back the prize I had bought at the offie on the way to the quiz :-(

As always a huge thanks to Dennis and Janet Poyner for organizing and running the quiz evening

Put the 25th February in your diary for 2nd leg of the quiz
