Congratulations to Mark Bateman on his new role! Working for UK Coaching (formerly Sportscoach UK) as a Coach Developer for Talent & Performance, his job will be to develop the Performance Foundation coaches from a number of UK Sport funded Olympic sports from GB Cycling to GB Athletics. These coaches will be working with the elite athletes who are 1-2 years out from being in a full time performance programme. He’ll be based around the North West and Lilleshall area and responsible for developing these coaches over an 18 month programme.

Mark’s 1st Team coaching role at Brooklands MUHC and England Hockey work are unaffected but he will sadly not be able to continue as Director of Hockey (DoH) for the Men. However, after having had the initiative and foresight to create and shape the full-time self-funding Director of Hockey role, he leaves us with a great framework into which we can recruit a DoH replacement (or perhaps two if we split the role).
