After the phoney "war" of various friendlies. the real battles commence on Saturday, with all seven teams in action. The 1s start off with the awkward double header against Hampstead and Westminster, but having beaten them in a friendly a couple of weeks ago, hopes are high for a successful trip.

Both the 2s and 3s are playing first team opposition, but on paper look stronger than ever so good things are expected. The 4s are playing at Manchester high school for girls... lock up your daughters!?

The 5s and 6s will start off with a battle royal at the club at 3pm, no quarter asked, no quarter given, but hopefully many beers drunk together afterwards!

The precocious 7s will be hoping their blend of experience and talented youngsters will see off the growing threat of Didsbury Northern.

Following on from last year, we want teams to send in a match report each week. Accuracy is not required, slander is heartily encouraged. Feel your place in the squad is under pressure? volunteer to write the match report, diss your competition "Carruthers is a complete and utter bounder!" and lo and behold your place will be safe...
The team that sends in their match reports with the least amount of chasing from me, will win a jug of beer at xmas, with a similiar prize for the 2nd half of the season. Don't leave it to your captain, they have enough on their plate, step in and help out, take turns and really you'll only have to write max 1 or 2 reports all season.

The sneaky 3s have taken a head start in the competition by writing a match report for last weeks friendly (no-one likes a swot though...)

Don't argue with umpires, they are human, they make mistakes just like everyone else, you included.
