After a strong 7-3 victory, Mulford's men were blessed with a trip to the north east to face their next opponents, Gateshead.

After a three hour drive with some interesting karaoke choices from Jeffs and a detour to see the Eiffel Tower the 2's arrived in a somewhat cold and windy Newcastle.

Once again within the first five minutes, after a prolonged period of patient buildup play and a succession of corners, Brooklands took the lead through a Wolfy drag flick. The second goal came shortly after from the yet another corner and a fierce Dazzler strike into the bottom corner.

Sustained pressure resulted in another corner for Brooklands which was dispatched by MLH after a well worked routine. Gateshead found the back of the net with their second shot of the game after a cheap corner given away by the Brooklands defence resulted in a scrappy goal, 3-1 Brooklands!

Mulford's men were unable to convert any more chances until the second half when Dazzlers raw power from a drag flick saw the ball hit the goalkeeper and drop into the net. At the other end After another defensive error Gateshead's second goal came from a deflected corner.

At 4-2 Brooklands looked like they would finish off Gateshead but some dubious play from the defence saw a stray ball pop onto the top of the Brooklands D, Bieber had no option but to storm off his line to clear the ball, what he didn't see was the attacker also go for the same ball, what resulted was a downed striker, a yellow card for Richmond and a penalty stroke. Up stepped MLH with nothing but a stick gloves and a helmet all the Gateshead #16 had to do was hit the target, intimidated by the physical prowess of the substitute goalkeeper the stroke was put wide. 4-2 Brooklands!

Without a keeper Brooklands kept the ball for the remainder of the game, despite a yellow card for Virabi, and took the three points back to Manchester to retain the top spot in the league, next up Whitley bay.
