Back to winning ways!!

of two lucazades and two red bulls!!. For once the game before us actually finished on time so after a healthy warm up our game began.

We dominated possession from the off and with most of our chances falling to Jeffs, it stayed 0-0. Unfortunately Formby then capitalised on one of their breakaways with a ball fired into the D through a number of Brooklands sticks and deflected past Richmond. Brooklands had countless chances to get on the score sheet, with the Formby keeper smothering shots, and a number of corner chances wide of the target. However our heads did not go down and we kept the intensity up and got our just reward with a fine corner flick by 'The Wolf'.

The second half was much of the same and due to our high work rate and tempo more gaps were appearing in the Formby defense, and it was only a matter of time before the second goal came. This time a well worked short corner routine, gave Rory Capper the chance to rifle a shot into the bottom corner for a 2-1 advantage. Another well worked corner ten minutes later saw the lead extended, the goal may have ultimately gone in off the defender however Nick Little may claim it.

We finished off the rout with a fourth and final goal from a penalty stroke, after some good counter attacking play resulted in Tristan Gilbody being crudely taken out by the Formby Keeper, who received his marching orders. This left Little with a simple chance from the penalty spot against a kicking back.

So after a minor blip last week we were back to our winning ways and another three points safely placed in the back seat of Carels car.

League leaders Preston our the visitors this week, and the boys will be looking to build on the performance against Formby with a win on home turf!
