Drawing to Leeds the earlier in the season meant the stage was set for a brilliant match. Leeds went ahead first on a quick counter attack. Matt leigh then equalised by getting on the end of a inch perfect ball from Andrew Sidebotham, deflecting it into the top of the net. 1-1.
Just a minute later Leight added a second to his and Brooklands tally by clearing up a Nick Jeffs shot. Leeds then equalised to bring it 2-2. Rory capper made a break into the D releasing the ball to Leigh who then calmly beat two players and reverse hit it into the goal to complete his first half hat trick.
Brooklands went into half time 3-2 up. Soon after the second half started Leeds equalised again. The game was living up to its expectations of being a thriller.
In the 59th minute Matt Lakin-hall scored the winner from a perfectly executed pc routine. Brooklands were then forced to put in demanding defensive shift, stopping every attack Leeds could throw at us. The defence really came into its own. The final whistle was a relief.
