The magnificent 12 ride again

The magnificent 12 ride again. For the second week running the 3s had a depleted squad of only 12 players due to demands from further up the club and a larger than expected number of injuries. Should the team be sponsored by a healthcare company is the question being asked.

Quibell stepped off the plane and straight back into plugging the left half slot. With the skipper leading by example and literally destroying AE attacks there was soon a number of players lying on the floor. The ex-international umpire was heard to say it was a great game of hockey with proper competition for the ball.
With Jose Rusbridge making his debut as a Barbour wearing manager it was interesting to hear his comments from the sideline as people turned the ball over in contact. AE had a chance to take an early from a stroke but for some reason the taker decided to commence his run up from somewhere near the 25. A sixteen ensued and debutant Charlie Noble breathed a sigh of relief and then proceeded to pull off a couple of good saves which settled the nerves.

Brooklands then started to dominate an experienced AE side and after breaking his season duck last week, Nenah was on hand to pounce on a great cross. The midfield of Duds, Greg and Anton were mixing up the play and Crackles was causing the opposition defence problems by being in the right place. One nil, half time and the second half was basically domination. Nenah pocketed a second and we had a number of chances and eventually Virabi got a corner drag right and extended our lead to 3 goals. Well done skipper, the monkey is off your back.

AE got a consolation goal as the boys legs began to tire due to the amount of pitch time but we controlled the last few mins for good victory.

Lancaster and Morecambe not to be confused with Lancaster or Morecombe are next up at the University of Cumbria which is in Lancashire. Confusion potential.

Then we eventually get a Home Home game against our nearest rivals, Windemere, which was obviously designed by the league. Management are looking for a number of injuries to clear up but hoping for players coming back as the ones move indoor. Come along and watch on the 9th December at 1330
