The last u14 North West League match saw the visitors Neston arrive with their pseudo internationals and a ghetto blaster (or is that too 20th century!).  One or the other might have awestruck Brooklands as Neston dominated the start and were 3-0 up in the first 15mins.  A change of formation made the game more even but still those in pink scored two more goals before half time.
The second half saw Brooklands come out with newfound confidence pushing and pressing higher up the pitch.  Just when it looked like a strong attack down the right was been repelled the intensive press resulted in the ball popping up for Haroun to score; Neston heads dropped like they had conceded a last minute winner in the cup final.  With this the match turned and Brooklands confidence grew further.  James H, Archie and Elliot were moving the ball lovely across the back.  James F and the 2 Harry's intricately linking up down the right.  With Haroun, Elliott and Oscar doing similar down the left.  A second goal for Haroun following a driving J run by Elliott was a just reward.  Neston were in shock and started to feel the pressure coughing up cheap possession.   Despite still leading by 3 goals the Neston coach didn't dare to take off his star players.  Both sides had some penalty corners and although Neston had some powerful drag flicks there was no addition to the score.  One half each!  As players were clapped off in appreciation results came in from elsewhere and news that Brooklands had qualified for the Supra league; well done and plenty more great hockey for spectators and players to enjoy.
