Brooklands start cup defence with a bang!!

The win for Brooklands looked almost certain from the start, with the huge league difference evident in the way Blackburn struggled to get the ball out of their own half.

The game started positive with Brooklands winning a short corner in the first minute of the game which was put agonisingly wide. The pressure continued however and the deadlock eventually broke after 9 minutes from a drag flick conversion by Luke van Bentum. Followed soon after by Nick Jeffs making it 2 from a well worked team goal.

Brooklands continued to press well, forcing Blackburn to turn the ball over on their own 25 often, making it 8-0 by half time.
Blackburn started the second half well scoring a well earned short corner, to make it 8-1 but unfortunately the pressure continued from Brooklands again and the game finished in a resounding 12-1.

Goals came from Nick Jeffs x5, Alex Holmes x2, David Mills x2, Luke van Bentum, Jacob Plummer and Steve Andrews, continuing Brooklands 2's promising cup run.
