As the only side not yet faced, this would give us a real sense of our strength in this league.
After Brooklands soaked up the early pressure from Leeds, they won a short corner which Darius slotted home for his third of the weekend. This was the third time we’ve watched that hand fly up in the air, like a slower Alan Shearer. Get creative Dazzler.
Leeds began to get stronger in the game. Eventually the ball was crashed into the D and following a period of chaos that went something like – shot, save, shot, save, foot, trip, foot, shot , save, deflection, despairing lunge, the ball finally crossed the line to bring Leeds level.
Half time drew a yellow card a piece from the umpires as tensions rose. Brooklands cracked first. After conceding a short corner, the first of which was saved and cleared, Leeds were awarded a dubious second attempt. Goal. 2-1.
The score quickly became 3-1 as Leeds slotted in a drag flick with Brooklands again down to 10. Remaining on top, Leeds fired shots over and straight at Keeper Richmond, failing to capitalise on their lead. This seemed to spur Brooklands back into life and following some great building up play, Andrews managed to avoid running onto an open stick and slot the ball home. GAME ON BROOKLANDS.
As the game drew to a close, it was all Brooklands. A short corner was won by Rory ‘look how good he is’ Capper. A well worked routine saw the ball dragged hard and low for Captain fantastic, Nick Little to deflect the ball into the roof of the net. It was like he’d saved that routine for the fans.
Final score 3-3. Brooklands sit a point clear at the top of the League.
