The 3s got back to wining with ways after a great game with a Deeside outfit boasting a couple of ex England junior players. The 3s had a full squad of 16 so were able to rotate rapidly as some players seem to struggling with the unusually warm temperatures. University Toryn Whitehead was making his debut and provided some wild stallion style running in midfield. Greg Cooke made his arrival this season and added an extra bite to midfield
Much better ball retention than last week meant to team were able to dominate at times and created a number of opportunities for deflections which no one was able to connect with. (guess what might be on the agenda at training). With Rusbridge having a calming influence in midfield our runners were beginning to make inroads though still must avoid contact. After a period of pressure Darius started winding short corner onto their keeper’s glove with a regular occurrence.
It was the ever reliable promising junior Duds who broke the deadlock just after half time with a well taken goal and then the cards started with Andrews and Bolton picking up greens and the skipper unfortunately getting pinged for a couple of yellows. The post match fines session had a field day.
Positives of the day were that we are still creating chances and the defence held strong despite the number of cards. One the team avoid contact with the opposition then a team will be on the end of a good performance. The feedback from the umpires is that the game was worthy of at least the league above. MOM was Rusbridge
