Normal service was resumed for the 4’s, dominating possession and territory, not converting that into a final result.
The lads started far quicker than has been evidenced in the last few weeks and 11 minutes in after a flowing move saw Brooklands win a Short corner. This pinged around the D before falling to Joe B to knock in his second goal in 2 games.
Sandbach were back level 3 minutes later after a rare forage forward and into Brooklands D saw a very soft goal resulting from a scramble near the p spot.
Brooklands continued on the offensive but it remained 1 – 1 at half time.
Brooklands were caught pushing forward at the start of the second half and fell 2 – 1 down 2 minutes in with a 3 v 2 at the back which Sandbach took advantage of hitting the corner of the goal from the top of the D.
We found ourselves 3 – 1 down half way through the half after a brief spell of Sandbach possession in our half.
The lads continued to show drive and determination looking for the goals to get back into the game and were eventually rewarded with a second goal 33 mins in from reverse stick shot from Nathan B.
The final leveller didn’t come and Brooklands came off 3 – 2 down.
The lads can hold their heads up high for a good performance against a vastly more experienced team and definitely deserved better.
They are learning as they go and progress in their development can be seen.
