The seventh team have now become the sixes for the rest of the season and our proper first turn test against Bowdon 5’s, who brought a good mix of slightly older young lads with a larger number of seniors spread across the pitch. First 10-15 was very even before Bowdon took the lead. The boys were a little rattled, more used to controlling the game than having to really work hard to create opportunity but also defend with good vigour. First half finished 3-0. Second half we were much more composed, nerves gone, and starting to play more. The boys played much more to protect the ball and win possession, understand a cheap give away would cost us. A (dubious OP?) flick came in the last 5 mins, other than that we would have lost the second half one nil. Great to see Finn back. Lucas back and growing in strength in the 2nd half, good game also for Alex in the middle. Albeit a loss, this is the games this team needs and a lot was learnt (by all!).
