Welcome back Gary Brown! Quite an even first half, not many chances either way but some good play.
Second half we started to dominate possession more, albeit some lapses of concentration on our choices and passes (or lack of) let them back in. We did have some nice passages of play and work rate in midfield was notably good, well done John, Lucas & Alex in particular. We had a 5 min interval whilst they attended the bloody nose of one of there lads at the back (Andrews senior incident, but no foul I might add!), soon after a good move and Lucas free in the D with a strong shot to the side of the keeper hitting the side board (someone was paying attention at Monday night training!), 1-0.
From here it looked like we would build but let’s say “inconsistent” umpiring helped to even things up by claiming a foul, by Browny, (that wasn’t in fairness) and then claiming chat back, which believe it or not, (I know you won’t!) wasn’t, he yellowed Gary and we were down to 10. During that 10 they secured a short for not being 5 yards on a free hit (a bit soft) and scored form it. Can’t blame the umps, but hey, I’ve seen much better. A little bit of argy bargy in the last 5, with the Brooklands Captain having to remind Wigan that the boys he was claiming were “putting it about”, which they weren’t!, were 14 years old and he should grow a pair. Lovely sunny nice day out in Wigan....
