A vast array of players from past to present turned up at Brooklands for the first round of the masters O40’s cup competition, from Mr Yates donning a shirt again to the returning Iain Cherry showing us his new slim man (I’ve done a marathon) looks.
The squad included some very good Non Brooklands players all wearing the Brooklands shirt for the first time at masters level.
Brooklands started the game with some very nice passing moves and created numerous opportunities against a rather older Deeside 11, who may not have been older in age more rather in looks with most having rather large paper rounds in a previous life.
One nil Brooklands, great passing move down the right for Davies to find King in the D, who first timed into the goal.

Then we went a bit sideways with a few dodgy subs, and a few dodgy passes and mistraps led to Deeside venturing out of there half, 2-1, short corner goal. Some interesting number one running from Matt Lakin-Hall who decided that Geoff price couldn’t rinse him again like he did yesterday but he did.

Two goals, one from either side, another number running mishap from Lakin-Hall and I can’t remember the other goal, may have been Johnny Davies.
After a rather nice chat at half time, with input from the two first team assistant coaches, Dowdall & Yates we started the second half and didn’t look back
